David McFarland is a cinematographer with 10 years experience in feature films, music videos, and television.
He trained in cinematography at Boston University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. David has built
a career and reputation shooting independent features including award-winning Gordy Hoffman's, A COAT
OF SNOW and Abe Levy's trans continental THE AVIARY. He recently wrapped shooting the Super 16mm project, BLIND
on location in London and Essex, England.
In 2003 David photographed the short
film PT JOHANSEN'S GUIDE TO NORTH AMERICAN MONSTERS which won the CHRYSLER/HYPNOTIC FILMS MILLION DOLLAR FILM
FESTIVAL. This film was produced in part through UNIVERSAL PICTURES. It was a technical challenge consisting
of lighting several blocks of UNIVERSAL STUDIOS' New York street and using rain machines to transform the atmosphere
into a film noir setting.
David McFarland has also served as 2nd Unit DP on multiple
films such as: ALL I WANT, (Millenium Films) starring Elijah Wood, Franke Potente, and Mandy Moore and HARD
CASH, (Nu Image) starring Val Kilmer and Christian Slater.
